World AIDS Day 2009

"Imagine a community where "more illness is avoided, fewer lives are lost, and where there is more efficient use of our limited health care resources. It's important for all of us to make a concerted attempt to focus our energies and efforts on preventing disease not just treating it."

Dr. Julie Gerberding, CDC Director

The 2009 World AIDS Day event will be held Saturday, December 5, at Pride Community Park located at 815 63rd Ave., East in Bradenton, FL.  We will be partnering with agencies in Manatee and Sarasota County.

The WAD committee Chair for 2009 is John Perez with Community AIDS Network (CAN).  If you wish to join us, please feel free to come.  MCHD is located at 410 Sixth Avenue East, Bradenton. (941) 748-0747.

Please wear a red ribbon, the emblem of HIV/AIDS, as a sign of support for people living with HIV and a symbol of hope for awareness, understanding and search for better treatment and a cure.
